| 68th Annual Grammy Awards |
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards are almost here, and if you’re anything like us, your group chats are already buzzing. It’s that time of year when we stay up into the early hours of Monday morning, fueled by coffee and pride, to see our favourites win big. This year is particularly special for the continent, as the Best African Music Performance category returns for its third year, proving the world is well and truly listening to our sound.
The ceremony returns to the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, 1 February 2026. Trevor Noah is hosting for the sixth and final time, and since it’s his farewell gig, we’re expecting plenty of laughs and perhaps a few surprises before he takes his final bow.
For African fans, the stakes are incredibly high. The Best African Music Performance category is packed with talent, featuring Burna Boy, Davido with Omah Lay, Ayra Starr with Wizkid, South Africa’s Tyla, and Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo. Burna Boy is also up for Best Global Music Album for No Sign of Weakness.
The performance lineup is a brilliant mix of icons and new stars. Lady Gaga leads the pack with seven nominations, and Justin Bieber makes his long-awaited return to the Grammy stage. Fans can also catch sets from Sabrina Carpenter, Tyler, the Creator, and Rosé, plus a special tribute to Ozzy Osbourne featuring Slash and Post Malone. Topped off by star presenters like Harry Styles and Charli xcx, it’s set to be a massive night.
The main show kicks off at 02:00 WAT on Monday, 2 February. For the dedicated fans, the Premiere Ceremony—where many African categories are announced—starts earlier on Sunday at 21:30 WAT and can be streamed live on YouTube or the official Grammy website.
